Al U-Died, Qatar.

Shape Services Ltd provide personnel for high risk areas where individual security clearances are required to work in sensitive areas, line of sight surveys, installation of Eriksson mini-links and the erection of portable masts on the military bases. Al U-Died is one area where Shape is involved.

Afghanistan – Tetrapol Network Installation

A key defence sector client won a flagship project to install a full voice and data network for coverage across a major city in Afghanistan. In order to fulfil their commitments, Shape Telecom was engaged to carry out all of the physical network build and design activities.

Microwave Installation and Commissioning

Following on from Shape’s successful delivery of an ambitious LOS undertaking we were awarded the next stage of the programme, to install and commission the network throughout the Highlands and Islands and Central Scotland. Of the original 107 LOS surveys carried out, 86 Links were required for the network.

Line of Sight Surveys

Shape won a contract to carry out 90 Line of Sight surveys on one of the countries leading energy provider’s network’s in Scotland who wished to upgrade from an Analogue to a Digital Network in 2007. This involved sites in Central Scotland and sites in the Highlands and Islands. In addition to the geographical challenges this presented, we were also required to complete all the links in a 3 month period, together with final reports, during the worst part of the Scottish winter.

At Shape we have established a team of experienced highly qualified engineers with high levels of security clearance who are deployed on maintenance contracts throughout the world. They currently operate in some of the most difficult theatres of operation, including Afghanistan, Iraq and Kosovo.

Installation and Commissioning

Our client approached Shape for installation and commissioning services for one of the main operators in the UK, as the end customer. Essentially the project entailed installing and testing microwave equipment that had previously been deinstalled, refurbished and tested ready for use again. Key to the success of this project was our ability to cope with significant volumes, some 300 sites, over a limited time period.
